Republican Congressman-elect is a total charlatan with an entirely fake résumé

Raskin is correct here.

Santos has no business being in the House, but we all know that if a member can be kicked out without external due process, the GOP would just use a majority to remove whatever members they felt like based on the Santos precedent.

The people of his district have no representation and that is not right. He should be removed immediately. If this fool was in any of their districts, they would have booted him.

I can see both sides of this. The first expulsion resolution was because of the lies he told to get elected which he has admitted to. This one followed his campaign treasurer pleading guilty.

Here's the statement from Jamie Raskin. I agree with him and I'm as hard core leftist as you can get.

Yet the GOP still pretty much supports an open and obvious fraud in their midst. They should be pressuring him to quit. They aren’t.

Well he will lose his seat next election and God willing he will drag other GOP seats down with him. GOP deserves a solid thrashing in NY.

It takes two thirds.

And the GOP has never let precedent stand in the way of their thirst for power. Ask Merrick Garland.

I may have missed it, but can they recall him? Maybe they don't have the ability to do that. They should change the rules for the future. All districts should be allowed to recall their local rep, for exactly this reason.

Santos reminds me of that guy who killed Versace.

No, they don't and the rules cannot be changed without an amendment to the US constitution. Not happening.

+1 All of the famous recall elections are for state offices, not federal.

Looks like the GOP will have to carry Santos to full term.

He has to resign if he gets convicted of felonies, because he’ll lose his committee positions and his ability to vote. Just like the last three Republican members who were convicted of felonies.

He serves on no committee. He takes up space and collects tax payer dollars. His constituents are without any representation in effect. He is a petulant crook and he won't resign. He should have been removed. Shame on everyone involved for this pathetic situation.
