| My book club is having it's monthly meeting on Zoom this week. Yay! A glass of wine with the girls! How does Zoom work? Our leader has the account. So, I am guessing she will send us a link and password to join in? Is there a monthly cost to join? |
Your leader will send you a link and then you can join the meeting when he/she opens a session. You can join either thru audio or video depending on your choice. Also your leader might request a password or not. If requires, he or she needs to send you the password to join the meeting. It is free |
| It's super easy, just click the link when you get it from the leader. It might be easier if you download the app on your phone or tablet in advance but I don't think you need to. |
| I joined in a zoom meeting yesterday. I had to download the app onto my Chromebook. We used a paid version ($15) it was fine. Log in 10 minutes early just in case you have to download the app and to give yourself time to turn your camera and sound on and familiarize yourself with it. It was great to see my coworkers. |
| Download the app to your device ahead of time. That will save you a few minutes. |

I think the only people who pay for zoom are the hosts. So you can get invited to a call but you don't have to pay unless you want to host.
They make money because businesses pay to host and let their workers, clients, etc. use it. |
| Zoom is free to anyone if call is under 40 minutes |
|
If you pay the $14.99 are meeting times unlimited?
Does only the organizer have to pay the $ or do invitees have to pay to stay on longer than 40min? I had my first 30min zoom meeting yesterday and loved it! Way better than facetime, skype, gotomeeting, etc. Have fun OP! |
| My daughter was invited to a meeting with her friends. We downloaded it on the computer ahead of time and then put in the code. It was really easy! The girls loved it. One of the parents must have an account since the group was on over two hours. |
| I just had a telesession with my therapist via Zoom. Super easy, just clicked the link. |
Words you will never hear me say! |

We need to use Zoom for a virtual funeral service. Is there a way to keep the picture of the deceased on screen while still being able to see participants talking?
|
Sorry for your loss. Someone can share the screen with a picture of the deceased. Maybe have a computer logged into the meeting dedicated to that. I think the speaker would be a small picture I’m the corner. |
You can use any photo as a virtual background. |
| Does anybody have security or privacy concerns WRT zoom and elementary school kids? Our school is using zoom for so much right now and I’m having a hard time getting any info from the school on their topic. Also, if I download to the kids chromebooks, do they need accounts on zoom? |
