| I’ve heard cancellations in other states but not here yet. I think most of the fertility clinics here have their own surgical suites and not sure if that plays into the decisions to postpone cycles. I also wonder if there is a difference between those doing stims and those doing transfers. What is your clinic doing? |

OP here, just saw this.
The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the global leader in reproductive medicine, today issues new guidance for its members as they manage patients in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Developed by an expert Task Force, of physicians, embryologists, and mental health professionals, the new document recommends suspension of new, non-urgent treatments. Specifically, the recommendations include: Suspension of initiation of new treatment cycles, including ovulation induction, intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), in vitro fertilization (IVF) including retrievals and frozen embryo transfers, as well as non-urgent gamete cryopreservation. Strongly consider cancellation of all embryo transfers, whether fresh or frozen. Continue to care for patients who are currently ‘in-cycle’ or who require urgent stimulation and cryopreservation. Suspend elective surgeries and non-urgent diagnostic procedures. Minimize in-person interactions and increase utilization of telehealth. | I just called SG Rockville and they said they're aren't cancelling anything as of now. I'm still nervous though, given the above ... I'm supposed to start in 2-3 days. |
| CFA is still seeing patients as of now. |
| Are SG and CFA actually starting new retrieval cycles now or just seeing new consults? |
My doctor scheduled a call today. I am afraid my cycle is going to be cancelled.
|
Which practice and RE? I’m so sorry. I’m devastated that my FET will probably be canceled. |
| My doctor at CFA is still full steam ahead for our FET in mid-April, but I feel like things are changing day by day. |
| Clinics that tried to stay open in CA and NY were shut down by the Governors. I think that will happen here. |
| Any updates? |
|
SGF will be shut down there is a petition with ASRM and the Dept of health to close all non essential businesses...it will include all fertility clinics
|
| PP did someone from SGF tell you this?! I have a phone consult with my RE tomorrow. I feel morally conflicted about going forward with an FET but I'm also afraid that if we don't do it now, it may be 6 months before it reopens. It's so shitty. So sorry to everyone who has to postpone even longer. And my heart goes out to everyone effected by coronavirus. The whole situation is just heartbreaking. Hang in there! |
| I have already posted about this on another thread but I am just positively wrecked over this. I paid an enormous amount of money for donor eggs and now cannot transfer embryo. This is a nightmare. |
| Just heard from SGF. No new cycles of treatment are beung started. |
|
I heard the same from SGF- no new cycles and canceling FETs.
I'm still doing an ERA (because I think I'm being considered mid-cycle), but my nurse said that they're canceling FETS and trying to transition some FETs to ERAs. Though there seems to be a possibility that the ERA will be canceled, we'll see. FWIW, they said that they're moving as much to telemedicine as possible, having people wait in their cars for appointments if they choose, and thoroughly wiping down rooms in between patients. |
