There are many many examples of the press going too far wrt Trump. It makes me cringe. And the press is doing us a disservice. It is all
For clicks. Argh. Stay focused people. Here is the latest that drives me crazy. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/derek-kan-trump-coronavirus-task-force-stanford-google-group/2020/03/16/b866bab2-677f-11ea-abef-020f086a3fab_story.html |

I agree.
Under the lense of social media, Obama would have failed with the SARS epidemic. |

I think the best way to deal with Trump is to ignore him and focus on and praise the Governors who are handling this so well. Put them in the spotlight. That would burn his ego and maybe actually light a fire under his butt to do something useful a win win. I get the urge to point out the problems but all it does is rally his base who already believe he is unfairly treated. |
| I am not sympathetic with you, OP. |
| What do you mean by too far? He is lying everyday. I wish the press just ignore him. He is useless anyway. |
Op here. They pick and pick and things that I think aren’t fair and that are misleading. So it gives Trump an argument. And not distracts for his true lies and actions to undermine this country. But the 24 hour new cycle by numerous news outlets is a problem. |
This. He’s incapable of self reflection. He’s done a tremendous job and not at fault for anything. Nice attempt at trolling though, op. A+ |
I don’t understand what’s “not fair“ about this. The task force is classifying their meetings and then this guy goes to crowdsource advice from hundreds of non-government people? |
Gee, within one week of our first H1N1 case, Obama had: 1. An approved test, which shipped 2 days later. 2. Guidance on school closures 3. A declaration of emergency Within six months, we had a vaccine. And this illness only had a case fatality rate of 0.02% so he moved very fast and jumped pretty high, for a disease that was less lethal than the average flu. I don't think "the lense of social media" would make Obama look like Trump in any way. If think the current "lens of social media" would like to rewrite history though. Don't fall for it though. |
| There is no such thing as “too far with Trump”. The man is a walking headline. I just wish they’d dig deeper and do some real journalism to expose his massive corruption and treasonous activities. |

The idea that this can be solved by a bunch of smart people, as certified by their business school degrees, is exactly why we have Jared Kushner and Ivanka running around in the WH trying to fix the Middle East.
Pandemic policy must be driven by experts, not bright people with no experience. When it comes to building drive-through clinics or makeshift hospitals then bring in outsiders with experience in those areas. |
|
Completely agree. However, the White House occupant does give a lot of fodder. |

What's really sad is this attempt by conservatives to turn the corner on Trump's epic blunder after they all said it was a Hoax.
Maybe you should be holding Fox News and other conservative press accountable for making Trump believe this crisis was really a hoax instead of attacking the press that held him accountable for being more critical than you think is necessary? They demonstrably harmed us by their reporting. |
You’re calling WaPO the press? It’s a bunch of junior bloggers and is 75% OpEds nowadays. Please, read it and compare any day to a real newspaper non opinion stuff. |
WaPo (little) bonuses to headliner and “writer” are tied to number of comments. More comments, more moolah. |
