| Is there some type of status associated with Kate Spade bags, I’m hearing a lot about the brand but I never grew up familiar with it, never had one. |
| I would say those three brands are in the same echelon but most rich DCUMites will quickly inform you none is a luxury brand. |
| What does "luxury purse brand" even mean? |
| I don't think any of them are luxury. Every girl in the city has a K&S bag. |
| Like Hyundai vs. Mercedes |
+1 purses are not my vice but I think of all three of those as a high schooler/college rush first-nice-bag purse, not really luxury. |
Is it really luxury if they don’t make you spend ten grand on crockery and ugly sweaters before they sell you a bag? |
None of those are luxury brands. Anything you can buy in a traditional department store like Macy’s level or at outlets are not considered luxury brands. Are they fine to buy of course. Luxury would be Channel or Judith Lieber or Bogota Veneta. Think over $1,000 at least. |
|
Here is a good rule of thumb - if they sell the brand in the outlet malls, it's not a luxury brand.

Costco is not an outlet mall. |

| It’s definitely not a status thing but they do have some cute bags. They are in the $200-$400 dollar range. I would would say same status as wearing Ann Taylor or Banana Republic. Not that there’s anything wrong with any of these brands, but they are not luxury. That being said, I see many women and young girls looking very polished and casually well put together while wearing them. |
| Woodbury Commons outlets have DIOR, Prada, Gucci etc outlets... |
Going to treat myself to one of these babies when my membership rebate check comes through https://www.costco.com/cartier-cle-18k-pink-gold-ladies-automatic.product.100470166.html |
