CCL teams out performing ECNL teams at the Loudoun Showcase

Boys ECNL is not elite like on the girls side. DA teams are top tier talent for boys which leaves ECNL to be just another league.

ATTENTION ATTENTION, A parent on the Loudoun Red team would like you to know they out performed the top level Loudoun ECNL team.

Thank you, have a nice day.

Or a proud Herndon parent whose son's team beat 2 ECNL teams

Boys ECNL teams certainly haven’t shown to be anything close to elite when they’ve played good CCL/NPL/EDP/NCSL teams in tournaments like the Loudoun Showcase, OBGC, etc for 05 and younger...not only are they not dominating, they aren’t even winning. If that leads to college coaches recruiting more at open showcases instead of ECNL showcases, that ultimately is a good thing for players and their parent’s wallets.

This is hilarious. Loudoun's ECNL team isn't even the better team in its own club

This is Exhibit A for all of the girls ECNL fans who think Loudoun is going to become a juggernaut now that they have ECNL. Loudoun boys have had DA and now transitioned to ECNL. They don’t get the right players within their club up to the top teams, some of their boys ECNL teams - which should be strong since they kept a number of DA players - are average to bad, clubs that are 1/5th their size are capable of putting together CCL/EDP teams that are beating them, etc, etc. Their player pool grows and grows, their bank account grows and grows, and nothing changes. Nobody does less with more.

Actually the lesson here is that the ECNL parents have spent a little $ fortune while the CCL parents have not.

Their 07 team sees to be doing OK in ECNL so far....

And yet Maryland United boys' ECNL beat VDA boys DA, U17s by the way.

Given most (not all) of the coaches at Loudoun this is not surprising. I’ve been quite disappointed in coaching quality over here. It’s too bad I can’t find a decent combination of coach and league within decent driving distance for my kid to play with. Oh well, she’s having fun at least.
