And yet Maryland United boys' ECNL beat VDA boys DA, U17s by the way.

It just confirms that VDA has nothing to do in boy DA.

This is Exhibit A for all of the girls ECNL fans who think Loudoun is going to become a juggernaut now that they have ECNL. Loudoun boys have had DA and now transitioned to ECNL. They don’t get the right players within their club up to the top teams, some of their boys ECNL teams - which should be strong since they kept a number of DA players - are average to bad, clubs that are 1/5th their size are capable of putting together CCL/EDP teams that are beating them, etc, etc. Their player pool grows and grows, their bank account grows and grows, and nothing changes. Nobody does less with more.

Their 07 team sees to be doing OK in ECNL so far....

From a differnt DCUM thread:

They were in a lower bracket and the 2 teams from DMV that went to Jeff cup that went further was SYA and Sterling. How good is that 07 squad?

McLean Tournament
GFR = Champions of Top division Beat Loudoun Red in the final.
McLean ECNL = lost to Loudoun Red in the Semi Final
Barca= Did not make final of 2nd Division McLean. Played in Consolation Game.

Jefferson Cup-I don't understand all the divisions. I'm really not sure how it was tiered. Seems like there were some mega-division so me of these teams below could be in the same overall division, so just reading down the page...
BRYC ECNL lost 2 and tied 1. scored 1 goal. No final.
SYA Finalist
VSA - 2 wins one tie No final.
Loudoun ECNL - 2 wins one loss No Final
Sterling - Champion

I think you're mixing up the boys and girls here.....the reference to the 07 team doing well was specific to the 07 girls team, as a response to the previous poster who stated: "This is Exhibit A for all of the girls ECNL fans who think Loudoun is going to become a juggernaut now that they have ECNL...."

Hmm, assumed it was related to boys given the thread started with boys U15.

Sterling team is really solid. They have coaches doing a lot of good things out there inside and outside the club. We saw one of them coach against our kids in futsal and he was first-rate. I wouldn't be surprised if bigger clubs try to grab some of these coaches, if those coaches want to go elsewhere. They might like what they are doing already.
