Stanford goes to online classes because of Coronavirus

So Stanford will not have any more in person classes. What colleges are next? What about all these students far away that could get trapped in a city if the cases of the virus explodes. Who is going to feed all these students?

All the local universities are already making plans to finish out the semester remotely.

It’s already in the works.

Feed them? They go to stanford but don't know how to make sandwiches or ramen?

They have cancelled 2 weeks of classes - til the end of this quarter (they are on trimesters) and shifting to online. They haven't made a decision re next quarter.

I think they need to lock the campuses down, stop faculty and staff travel overseas or to affected areas.

Stay calm. Tell your kids to wash their hands as if they had OC and exhale. It's going to be ok.

Many college kids are on spring break right now. Countless will bring the virus back to campus with them next week. All colleges should do the same.

Local universities are telling professors to prepare to move classes online, just in case. No decisions have been made but they need to give profs time to figure out how they might do it.

People do not care about other people's lives. They always think this will not happen to them? Do you want to be among the minority of people who will die? All the measures are to make the virus to spread less quickly and few people to die.

But people who do not realize they have it and do not even show any symptoms can spread the virus to others who may die.
