| I'm concerned about my DS who has asthma. I hate the idea of him being sick 300 miles away in a dorm room and would rather have him home if he is going to be ill or quarantined. At this point her school is saying not to travel during spring break and that they are working on an online option in the event it is needed. |
Which college is advising no travel at all over break? My student’s college is only cautioning about overseas travel, as much because of the risk of being quarantined when trying to return to the US. |
| Princeton urging students not to return to campus after spring break and do their courses remotely https://twitter.com/Princeton/status/1237005767774961664?s=20 |
| NYU shifting to online as of Wednesday (according to my kid, though no official notification yet). |
Wonder if this is just for the NYC campus or global campuses too. They have already told US students overseas they can choose to come back to the US and complete their studies from their permanent residences |
NYU is going to online classes on Wednesday March 11- its official now. Next week is spring break, and then NYU will be holding classes online at least thru March 27, with updates provided that week. |
| My DD's school is talking about going online- asking the proffs and students to prepare if needed. I imagine they all come home if this is the case? Has NYU or Stanford said they should plan on moving out of dorms? |
No - but these weeks are adjacent to spring break so some will be leaving already. For some staying out makes sense - I wouldn’t leave NYC for Seattle, for example. |

Amherst is going all remote for the rest of the term after spring break. Told students to pack as if leaving for summer. I can’t imagine how demoralizing that would be if you were a senior!

what a cluster
You only get 8 semesters of college. This is not how one of them should have to go. |
| Vanderbilt, Berkeley, Hofstra, Fordham, etc. all moving online. |
You have never even been to Stanford, DC loser. |
I can tell you. Incredibly upsetting as a senior after all the hard work. |
Yes. If only a virulent virus hadn’t jumped from animals to humans. |
|
They're telling the kids to pack all their stuff they might need to do on-line work from home, but not telling them to pack their entire rooms like they're leaving.
If they switch to on-line for the rest of this school year, what happens to all the stuff they left in their rooms? |
