Checkers/Chinese Checkers - Connect Four is similar in strategy, but much better quicker game

Sleeping Queens (my 4yo loves it, she just doesn't do equations)

competitive games aren't as popular in my house, especially the ones where you might get sent back toward the start (Chutes & Ladders, Candyland, Trouble, etc.)
