How long do you take a break from exercise when you pull a muscle in your lower back?
I went to yoga last night, two days after pulling the muscle, took it fairly easy and felt really nice afterwards. But this morning I'm hurting again. I'm not if I should be doing something moderate to keep up the stretching or take a break completely? FYI I usually do barre, yoga, pilates. |

I take a break from things like lifting or anything that doesn't feel good. But I increase my easy cardio.
I have found that light movement (elliptical, walking) actually aids in the recovery by increasing blood flow to the area and speeds up recovery much more than completely resting. I seriously only ever use the elliptical when I have a muscle pull. |
