This is so crazy. GOP and Trump are destroying the check and balance. We never thought this would happen in America. Trump controls every information that gets out of the government and disseminates misinformation to help himself politically. Until now, we had only seen this in autocratic countries like Russia or North Korea. How did we slid this far back? |
|
WOW.
And thanks for starting a Grenell thread. I know we're used to Trump nominating incompetent boobs whose only characteristic is loyalty but a completely inexperienced DNI is a BFD. My sister is a lifelong Republican, very high up in a three-letter agency, and is APPALLED by this. |
|
They mentioned on NPR this morning that one of the key DNI jobs is election security. Bringing in an acting guy, who is a major loyalist, just before the election when the house and senate can't do anything about it because he's acting is... suspicious.
But it looks like Grinell can only serve as Acting until 3/11 unless Trump nominates a permanent DNI. And "It was not clear whom Mr. Trump would nominate, and indeed he might choose someone with little chance at drawing Senate approval to keep Mr. Grenell in the position as long as he can." https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/20/us/politics/grenell-trump-intelligence-director.html |
| This country is sleep walking towards a total Putin takeover! |
How so? |
“Trump has interpreted his acquittal by the Republican-controlled Senate as a writ of absolute power, and the only way to stop him is in an election he is determined to keep from being free or fair. This is how democracies are unmade.” https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/02/trump-regime/606682/ |
So, you copy some crap from Twitter from the guy who wrote a biased piece....https://twitter.com/AdamSerwer/status/1230126718180110336 Aside from this piece being a ridiculous piece of crap - from The Atlantic, no less - WTH does this have to do with "sleep waking toward a total Putin takeover?" |
DP. Because the president was elected based on the emotions of people with anger issues, like you. |
How is this crap? What is the bias? What is your beef with the Atlantic? |
No anger issues here, friend. If you pay attention to Trump's rallies, they don't have anger issues. You've got him confused with the socialist candidate. And, I noticed how you skirted the question. Probably because you don't have an answer........ |
The GOP is fine with authoritarianism. They don’t really like democracy - witness the lengths to which they will go to suppress the vote. The GOP is also a fully subsumed subsidiary of Putin (if you don’t acknowledge this at this point, that’s on you and your stupid media choices). Hence: whatever the US dos under the GOP is to the benefit of Putin. We won’t just be beholden to Putin but to the Kochs, the Mercers, the rest of the shadowy billionaires and mobsters who fund the GOP. |
LOL. I see some of us have not moved on from the Russia collusion hoax. |
Np- FYI, you are no one’s friend. I promise no one likes you. |
I’m what world is the intelligence committee not briefed on intelligence? Oh that’s right, the autocratic world. |
|
Apparently the briefing in question stated to House Intel Committee that Russia is actively helping Trump 2020 campaign right now. Trump is afraid Democrats will weaponize this disclosure.
Republicans - always projecting their crimes onto others!!! |
