FCV leaving NPL and moving to NCSL?

Rumor is FCV is moving their teams out of NPL and into NCSL. Anyone at FCV know anything about this? I know neither league is considered a top league but isn't NPL at least a small step up from NCSL?

It's probably debatable that NPL is at a higher level than NCSL Div 1 these days. But this may have nothing to do with that, it could be that they don't want to be associated with ECNL RL which is what NPL is called in VA these days. Maybe it's a USSF directive.

I thought that NPL was team based (not club based). You do have to earn a spot.

A club can have some teams in NPL and others playing in EDP.

The U15 FCV UNITED team is participating in EDP this spring.

U15 teams have 9th graders on them. Va NPL (ECNL R) does not have a spring schedule for U15.
EDP is not based in Va so at U15 it has a spring schedule not a fall schedule. Most of the U15 FCV team is younger players playing up so they don’t have to worry this year about high school schedules. They do have NPL State Cup Semifinal and Final (if they win Semifinal) this weekend. They are in same Bracket of Jeff Cup as U15 Arlington Red although FCV United is the better team.
