How many preschools does one need to apply to usually?

Anonymous
Applied to 3 preschools for my 3 year old child, but now am getting a little concerned that wasn’t enough, as I keep hearing that these schools typically receive about 4x the number of applications than spots available. Any recommendations on what’s reasonable?

Take a look at "all decent" pre-schools located 10 miles or less from your house. Also, time the drive during rush hour to get a better sense of commuting time.

Applied to NCRC, Little Folks and St Columba

They’re not as competitive as they used to be. You’ll get into at least one of those.

Yeah you’ll be good with 3.

You'll get in - things have changed a lot. They're all losing students to free Pre-K.

Yep, you'll be fine. You'll get into at least one. Market has changed from 10 years ago.

We did 4 -Little Folks, River, NCRC and Aidan. Got into all but Aidan, which we hadn’t felt was us anyway.

We chose River because it really resonated with us. NCRC was great too.
