I'm very confused by all the people claiming they are completely shocked. I watched him do ONE interview, and was like "Oh, he's the gay one, and she's (Holly) the perky blonde one, got it." It was much more surprising when Elizabeth Smart's dad came out as gay. But this is like ... if Jessica Simpson's dad announced he was gay. Nobody would be surprised. |

I’ve honestly never understood what the big deal is these days. All this means is that he prefers sex with men. Again: okay, cool, whatever. It doesn’t change who he is outside of the bedroom. The only person impacted is his wife; sadly, she’s been misled and now she is forced to accept that her life will change. I agree that the majority of the time it’s ridiculously obvious. But that makes me feel like the person hiding in the closet who lies to his spouse is going above and beyond to deceive the person he claims to love. And that’s not cool. It’s beyond selfish; it’s truly cruel. |

Phillip Schofield was subject of rumors in the late 80s and early 90s about his sexuality. Spitting image famously spoofed this you can see it on youtube a song with Jason Donovan called "I'm so glad not to be gay".
He was under pressure at that time in his career. I thought he probably was gay back then and I didn't care because I thought it was his business. I am sorry that he has found coming out so traumatic and he has wept openly on Tv. I wish it had been easier for him. And I wish I could say what his mother told him, most of us don't care. Do you. |
