do you still eat avocado even when you know that 1lb of avocado requires 37 gallons of water to produce, and that it is causing major water shortage in countries like Chile and Mexico where people there don't have enough drinking water?

The avocado industry is a huge source of income and jobs for the Mexican people that is desperately needed. I'm happy to support that.

I eat them, but not frequently. I always see tons of over ripe and rotten avocado though so either they are producing too many or people aren’t buying as many.

Yes, and I still eat meat even though I know about the environmental impact, mistreatment of animals and so forth.

Then they should be grown in areas with adequate rainfall. Right tree, right place. Don't try to fool mother nature.

Because they are expensive. But we still eat them. I feel fortunate that we can afford them. Good source of good fats.

+1 They produce rice in CA where the farmers have to flood the area to farm the rice. And of course, they have lots of droughts. I used to drive by the area quite regularly. It's ridiculous to grow rice in that area.
