That wasn't the discussion though. This is masking outdoors when others have not been verified as COVID free. |
What do you mean? It's extremely rare for kids to get seriously ill. For most, it's asymptomatic. For every kid in school that knows they have covid, there are probably 3 or 4 others that unknowingly have it. |
St Louis imposed a mask mandate on Thursday, citing large percent gains in respiratory viruses and concerns over possible hospital strain. However, by Friday, they reversed course, as hospitals and medical providers pushed back on the city's alarmist comments.

However, on Friday morning, the department replaced its original statistics with less alarming data showing respiratory viruses trending up. Area hospitals seemed surprised when the city originally issued the mask mandate. "BJC is not seeing a strain on hospital capacity," BJC Health Care officials told 5 On Your Side. We are experiencing a seasonal increase in respiratory illness, which is typical for this time of year." Mercy Hospital described it as a "typical winter." St. Louis County said they haven't seen any out-of-the-ordinary strains on the health system." |
If you taught your kids any kind of politics or religion (and you did), STFU. |
You're on this board, telling an anon about their family?! You are unwell, and need a lesson in boundaries. Badly. Pickup a few in common sense and minding your own damned business while you're at it. Idiot. |
Nobody did this. PP couldn't read. Apparently, you can't either. Don't worry, you have lots of company on this board. So. Many. Idiots. |
Y'all need to make up your minds: either it's "just a cold" or it's serious enough to quarantine/mask. ![]() |
This. Nobody's testing anymore, and only a handful of people mask. Hopefully nobody at home is young/old/ill/otherwise susceptible. This board reminds me how much people suck. |
You just wished death on a parent you don't know... to protect their kids? Die and protect your own. |
Yeah, so I don't understand why some people freak out over people continuing their activities after testing positive, or venturing out without masks. Those people aren't meaningfully changing your exposure to covid because they are dwarfed by the number of people that don't know they have covid. Realistically, all you can do is protect yourself according to own level of concern. |
Do you mean the asymptomatics? |
DP. According to the best science we have, people are likely contagious for two days before they notice any symptoms. If that bothers you, wear a mask. |
Yes. That is pre-symptomatic. The truly asymptomatic carriers never show a symptom but carry/spread. |
Indeed. It’s because people have little rational ability to understand risk. Also a subset of people adopted an identity related to covid as opposed to treating it like any other health risk. Pretty classic cognitive errors. |
Asymptomatic, presymptomatic, or sufficiently mild symptoms to not realize they have an infection. That's probably 80% or more of exposures. |
