| Anyone over 40 have success w Dr. Payson at CCRM? Would like to hear any and all stories. thanks! |
| No. I had a horrible experience with him. Massive waste of time tears and money. |
| I have a friend who is 42 who has success with him. |

We did a bunch of initial testing with Payson at CCRM (though I'm a bit younger - 36). We liked him. He's not warm/fuzzy, but he was thorough and nice enough. We ended up not using CCRM because I was over their BMI limit. Despite not having any other health issues (BP and A1C are normal), they were going to make me lose 60 pounds before doing an egg retrieval. We didn't want to wait that long, so we went with Dr. Sacks at Columbia Fertility. (I DID lose 40 pounds over the last 8 months or so, but I'm still not at 60 gone. Egg retrieval went great, BTW.)
Anyway...if we could have, we would have gone with Payson. |
OP here. I'm so sorry. If you feel like it, could you elaborate? Did you feel you could have had more success if he had done certain things differently? Was it bedside manner or outcome? Thank you!! |
| I did 2 IVF cycles at age 39 with Dr. Payson and unfortunately no success. I liked Dr. Payson’s bedside manner and attentiveness a lot and his willingness to try new approaches, but I won’t try again with CCRM Nova because I’m not confident in their lab - I had much better lab results with SGF at age 38-39 but ultimately no success there either. In my 2 cycles at SGF fewer eggs were retrieved and 5 made it to blast (but tested abnormal) but at CCRM I had over 40 eggs between the 2 cycles and no blasts to test. Could have just been a fluke with CCRM but I also didn’t like that the lab wouldn’t give me any updates at all until Day 7 after retrieval. And every time the lab called me it would go straight to voicemail without ringing - which, of course, I knew because I was waiting anxiously by the phone each time for an update! I don’t know why that would happen but I felt like it was done on purpose because the lab didn’t want to actually talk to me. So, in short, I liked Dr. Payson and if he went to a different clinic I’d go see him again. My only issue with CCRM is that I lost faith in their lab and the people who work in it. Hope this helps! |
Assuming you are the same person, but by your background I believe you are, if you had a successful STIM and retrieval with Sacks at CFA, why do you keep saying you would've stayed with Payson? Is it just a matter of convenience? Seems odd to keep repeating it given your success at CFA. |
I am 20:29 from above. Same story from me. Overstimulated me and got a ton of eggs (close to 30) and not a single embryo even made it to day 3. Everyone was totally checked out and not listening to me or paying attention. They also screwed up my medication order and insurance coverage. |
