What % of married people cheat?

We are in 40s with elementary school kids. I know half of marriages end in divorce. 70% of second marriages end in divorce. Of the people who actually stay married, what % do you think are cheating?

I feel like we are surrounded by people separating, divorcing or cheating. Our marriage itself has its own challenges but we chug along for the kids.

So many variables...first, is cheating limited to sex or a sexual act in-person or some other definition?

My first google search said 50-60% of men and 40-50% of women cheat. Some as low as 25% and as high as 75% so who knows but from what I have seen 50% seems right. Assume the question is cheating at any point in a marriage and not at one given moment

In my experience, and I have a lot to speak from, I'd say that 15-20% of women are actively cheating, or pursuing it. The number is much higher of course if you are counting who has cheated at any time in their marriage.

These numbers seem very high.

I can only think of a handful of people I know who cheated on a spouse.

I have no idea! I haven’t cheated and I’d be very surprised if my husband had cheated. We have a very good relationship and his moral compass is very strong. Finally, good luck to him in finding someone whose oral skills are as good as mine!
