Mother in law says “NOKD,” meaning “Not our kind, dear.” Men with Jewelry are NOKD. Las Vegas? NOKD. R
Hip hop music? Definitely NOKD. Is that still an expression? |
| Never heard it before. |
| Maybe respond with WWJD? |
| Just out of curiosity, is it pronounced NOKD the letters N O K D or is pronounced knocked? This sounds really awkward to use in everyday conversation so I’m just curious. |
| Did she come with a copy of the Preppy Handbook so you can translate? |
| It's an old WASP acronym. It was in The Official Preppy Handbook way back when. |
| My mother said NOTD for not our type dear. |

Once upon a time she will appear at the gates of Haven, she will knock gently three times,
The little faded sound of steps will gradually grow louder as someone will approach the gate on the other side.. the little peep hole will open and a big eye will scan her top to bottom. Who is it? will ask a voice in the background on the other side someone else, not the the person who owns the eye.. "NOKD" will reply the eye owner to the voice from behind.. and will shut the pinhole solid... then the steps will fade away in the distance. |
| Suddenly it's 1982 again. |
| I thought meant, No Kan Do |
| What’s her background and age? |
Wow, Hope your kids aren’t listening to that because it’s horrible. |
OP’s spouse did and apparently he turned out ok. |
I thought this was going to be about New Kids on the Block. |
| Wow she’s a blatant bigot. |
