Buying a new car soon and will keep it 8-10 years. I want to buy the color that will stand the test of time both in appearance (minor dings and scratches) and also not look dated.
I’m thinking silver, white, or gray. What do you think? |
| Definitely silver. It's basic and boring but there's a reason it's so popular. |
+1 |
| Bright blue metallic. |
|
I think black ages the best.
I’ve driven black, white, green, gray, and blue. |
| Those aren't colors... boring. My last car was red and it held up well. |
| Black |
| Most older black cars are dull and covered in scratches. |
| Silver or grey |
Yes! Love my 11 year old red car. Looks great and not dated. |
| My dark blue, 12 year old car still looks pretty good. |
| Getting it washed regularly and garaged will help any color last. |
+2 I only buy silver/grey cars for this very reason. And I happen to think it’s actually appealing. |
+1 I’m on my third dark blue car and I keep them for a long time. |
Black car has to be washed ten times of any other color. That takes toll on the finish, in 8 years the top coat look very tired without regular high maintenance. Silver metallic does not need to be wash like ever so you end up washing less so you end up with less damaged top coat over the years. White is between the two, more washing then silver, less washing then black. I would go with either white or silver. I would not go with black. Being pressed for to choose one today probably white. |
