No they don’t. There have been no studies showing that states with mandatory annual inspections have fewer accidents caused by mechanical failure than states that do not. Most traffic accidents are caused by user error not by mechanical failure. All statistics and articles show inspections have absolutely no impact on traffic accidents or deaths.

MD doesn't have car inspections, just emissions testing. The per-capita vehicle fatality rate is higher in VA than MD, according to IIHS statistics.

The gas tax has not been raised in year ....there is a reason. Look for more and more toll road.
