Virginia ID Showcase

Parents & Players,

There are 8 spots left for our 2020 Virginia Boy's Winter ID Showcase - Session 2! Spots will likely be gone by the end of this week, so if you're interested in attending we recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your spot!

----------------
I am still two years away from worrying about taking these ads seriously.

That said, do they actually help? Have you ever gone to one or known someone who has attended one?

If one were serious about getting on a European Team or College Team, what steps would that person be taking.

Thanks in advance

How do you suppose you will get your kid in front of a college coach?

We target the schools we are interested and go to their camps. Not sure how effective it is going to a camp with 50-60 other kids and like 10 coaches.

To the first Poster: That is my questions exactly! LOL

To this Poster: This was my thinking too. But as I'm a Football person and that world is a bit different than Soccer, I wanted to make sure I'm on the right track.

My boy is only in 7th Grade, so we have a lot more time to worry about needing to know if we need to worry about this yet. It is too bad for him I don't have money to get him in all these superduper travel teams, or this would all be easier (for me). <ha ha>

I was told that he was the most gifted athlete to come through the Gym Teacher's experience in 7 years.....but that was said in light of him misbehaving and not following the rules. <eye roll>

You have time. My daughter is a freshman, and by the end of the spring we will have tried 2-3 camps. The thought is that over the summer and next year we will start really focusing on the schools where there is some mutual interest.

Is freshman year the right time to start attending these camps?

Getting to 1-2-3 as a freshman is not a bad idea at all. It gives the athlete an idea of what to expect.
