Party place for wide range of ages?

Anonymous
My daughter is turning 3 and would like to have a party that caters to kids ages 2-10. I can think of Chuck E Cheese and Badlands. We live in Virginia so I think most of our guests would find it to be a pain to get to Badlands. DD has a winter birthday so outdoor venues are out.

Are there any other places?

DH wants to do a home party but we don't want our house getting destroyed.

Trampoline park? They have a place for younger kids. It's not cheap though.

A lot of the bigger places have separate toddler areas

Flight Trampoline Park in Springfield
Scramble in Alexandria
Jolly Yolly (or Yolly Jolly) - the new place in Fairfax

Or you could rent out a small place like Jumping Joey's

These places are too old for a 10 year old. Why are you inviting 10 year olds to a 3 year old's party? I have a new 9 year old, and he wouldn't want to go to a 3 year old party unless it was a sibling, and then he would be a helper, not playing.

Badlands is a good idea. He could tolerate that place if there were a lot of older kids there. Can you just do a separate party with just the 3 year old's friends?

Trampoline park is your best bet. Try to find one with a toddler area/indoor playground so the birthday girl doesn't get squished.

Except these are super dangerous. I'd do Jumping Joeys. If the 8+ kids don't like that OH WELL it's not their birthday.

Monkey Joes Sterling if they still exist

—Nature center
—Open gym—not trampoline place b/c toddlers really shouldn’t be jumping in those places the way they are designed. Too easy for toddler break.
—aviation museum in college park
—bowling. Many lanes have the metal supports for little kids if it’s with the big ball. Bumpers optional. Duckpin the best.
—adventure theater in glen echo

I don’t think Scramble is too young for 8-10 year olds but that’s probably the upper limit. They don’t limit who can go in the play structure and I think the older kids would like it.

You could also look at Kids Choice or Beehive in Woodbridge. they both have older kid areas with the big bounce houses, and Kids Choice has the indoor pool.

Scramble is way too young for 8-10 year olds. If I had to bring my 9 and 10 year olds to a birthday party at Scramble, we'd make it work because I'd buy them something from the cafe and play Uno with them while their preschool sibling ran around and had fun.

Bottom line: Do something fun for the birthday kid! The parents of bigger kids will make it work.

Why would house get destroyed? Are they bringing matches? Kids don’t dictate how things go in your home, you do

20+ kids would make my house very messy, a mess I would have to clean.

Gymnastics place. Try Dynamic in Falls Church, in the same parking lot as the REI.
