Preschool for 2.5 Y/O. Tuitions??

Anonymous
I am looking to enroll my girl on a preschool, I want it to be preschool and not daycare. I live in Germantown, and I am looking around, and have found a couple of places for about 550/600 a month for 2 half days a week. I am wondering what are everyone else paying... every place wants you to go on a tour before giving you the rates, and unfortunately I don't have that much time off. I already went to those 2 places. but I want to hear from you, how much you pay, and how happy are you in those places.

Thanks

Repost no the preschool thread for actual school recommendations.

But for context, DS’s preschool is two and a half hours, five days a week, at close to $1,300 a month in Los Angeles.

I pay half that in Fairfax for 3 half days (3 yo). Nothin fancy, just a typical church halfday preschool. Oddly enough, 2 half days for the 2 yo class last year was slightly more expensive, I presume due to lower ratio.

Call them up. After they give you the pitch and ask you to take a tour before disclosing the rates, tell them you are able to pay a max of $X and is there program in line with this. Most people will be honest with you and be upfront if your budget and their cost are not in line and therefore not worth either of you wasting time exploring an option that financially cannot come to fruition.
