I've used Kiehls, chap stick, vaseline, and l'occtaine lip balm-- nothing has blown me away. Any recommendations?

Blistex. Nothing but that will do. I'm talking about the ointment/salve that comes in a tube, not the chapstick-like product. The waxy chapstick stuff that you listed simply sits on top of your lips and does not penetrate. It does nothing to heal. You can feel the Blistex working.

a little drop of plain Vitamin E oil - worked better than any balm I have ever tried.

Carmex. Full stop.

And I still like it out of the lil pots even tho they came out with the more convenient squeezy tubes.

Aquaphor.

Kiehls Lip balm. Love that stuff. Comes in a tub or in tubes.

Ooops, just saw you don't care for this. Sorry.

I used to enjoy excellent results from the Aveda stick, but it hasn't been working for me this winter. YMMV.

Carmex! Cheap and it works! I spent Christmas a few years back in Chicago. I returned with extremely chapped lips. I tried Aveda(which usually works), Kiehls, Blistex and nothing worked. I went to my old standby. Carmex worked within a day!

Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream.

Yeah, I was going to recommend it too. That and plain Vaseline are the only ones that work for me.

OP, how badly are your lips chapped or dry? If really bad, it could be a common allergic reaction to tartar control toothpaste.

Aquaphor or just regular vaseline.

I think all of those products are fine. However, I don't think it's what you use but how often.

I have an issue with chapped lips and just found a great new product that cures them over night - but it sounds kind of weird. Neosporin (yes, the antibact ointment for cuts) has a lip ointment out now. Its NOT an antibiotic but fixes my lips over night. I LOVE the stuff and you can get it at CVS. I also like Burt's Bees Pomengranate stick. Its seems to work much better than the regular Burts Bees Honey sticks but I have no idea why. I also love the Blistex ointment in a tube as a PP said. good luck!
