it's the democratic playbook close the achievement gap by promoting mediocrity until everyone can graduate at a sub 8th grade level winning

Didn't realize anyone liked the current social studies curriculum, such as it is.

DC PTA spending is insane. It needs to be fixed.

As far as I can tell as a ES parent, there is practically no social studies.

But don’t worry....the lowered standards now exclude attendance. That’s right you can attend a selective school even if you don’t attend school!

Going to be interesting to see how basically banning school suspensions for unruly kids is going to work out.

Don’t forget “Honors for All.”

Why?

That’s right my dudes vote Republican. Myeah.

Perfectly fine to tax our over funded PTA at 10% in favor of less well off schools. Also stop them from hiring staff.

I feel like a fool thinking DCPS would improve in a few years. The worst part is that I don’t any of this will help underprivileged kids. You need structure and high standards coupled with lots of support such as small classes and after-school tutoring. How will these kids survive in college and in the workforce when there are no consequences for discipline infractions or truancy

She'll be learning about this in 3rd grade too but at a deeper level. I think it is a spiral down approach, but it means that in the end not much is covered. I'm all for something new.
