I know, I know... rookie parenting mistake! But just yesterday I told our babysitter, “DS is afraid of the sound of the toilet flushing and he’d never go near the toilet”. This morning, I had two little trucks get flushed down the toilet. |
As I was saying the sentence “DD won’t put the sand in her mouth”, I turned to see her eating sand. |
“My kid would never drink”.
And then this same top honor high school junior came home stinking drunk and puked in her closet. |
Would never want a dog, next thing you know.. dog or else! |
Pick their nose and eat it. How would they even think to do something so repulsive? Then I saw him do it. We had words. |
I would never say never. Weird thread. |
Throw a party when I was away. |
Draw on the walls.
And they did. The younger one technically drew on her furniture because she’s a letter of the law person. |
Eat red meat. Then she gobbled down a cheeseburger. WTF? |
Oh I've known tons of parents who have said things like that. My favorite was when my friend was holding her 3 year old and loudly saying how trashy the family sitting next to us was because they were swearing around their kids and how their little kids were saying "frigging and sucks". She would NEVER swear arihd her kid and her kid would NEVER swear. A couple of minutes later, she spilled her water and said "oh sh-t". Her daughter smiled and proudly yelled "oh sh-t" for a couple of minutes while the other family basically just laughed at my friend. |
Yep. The “my kid would never drink!” parents are the funniest. Like you know. |
Why would you think your kids would never do something? Weird. |
+1 |
Do I think my child would never do something? No. But there are certainly things I've thought he was pretty unlikely to do that he in fact did. I guess that's how I'm interpreting this thread, taking the word "never" with a grain of salt. |
You can’t say that your child would never bite the head off a live chicken? Weird. What about saying your child would never drown his baby sister on purpose? Weird. Seriously, can’t you ever just enjoy or ignore a light thread? (Weird) |
