Breakfast sandwich maker for teen?

If you have one, does your teen use it? Are they easy to use? Do they leak?

Considering this as a Christmas present for teen DS.

Most adults wouldn’t be super thrilled with a kitchen appliance as a gift. (This does not include me... I love kitchen stuff) so, will your teen be super happy with a kitchen appliance?

If they love making sandwiches and it’s not the main gift.

I hope this is just a pan and not a countertop appliance that makes breakfast sandwiches?

My mom got me one years ago - and it's slower than just toasting some bread product and cooking an egg. I can make an egg & cheese sandwich in less than 5 mins with a pan and toaster. Took 10 with the specialty machine.

OP here: it's a little countertop appliance where you put in your english muffin-type bread, slice of ham, cheese, egg, etc, close and it cooks everything in a few minutes.

I got one for DW years ago and I have never heard the end of it since. D'oh! Stupid me for listening and believing her when she said she wanted it.

And yeah, a teen is going to think that gift sucks.

My teens like it and use it. I'll be in the minority. We've worn the non stick off ours.

My kids love theirs. It can take a little practice learning exactly how much time each particular type of sandwich needs to fully cook the egg but it’s super easy once you get the timing down.

It really does depend if he's a gadget lover, and what his food tastes are. My 10 year old son would go nuts for this. He makes scrambled and poached eggs in the microwave for snacks, and often turns them into sandwiches. My teen son wouldn't use this, but he uses the Vitamix daily for smoothies.

My DS would love it! He is 16 and ordered a waffle maker from Amazon and makes waffles all the time!

I have this. The Hamilton Beech one. It is AWESOME. I hate kitchen gadgets, but this one is worth every penny. My 12 year old can use it and it is the perfect after school snack before he goes to practice.

Get it. For yourself or for our kid. You will use it.
