| So what clubs/coaches actually value offensive midfield play? DD is unhappy at current club. Coach is a long ball to the wings. |
| Barcelona favors a technical midfield. |
| For U13 girls - the 07 play up at Metro United is an offensive midfielder so they seem to value them. |
| Where? MD, VA, DC? |
Wow mom, you didn't have to make the post about your kid. You could have just said Metro united does. |
Not the mom, but whatever you need to make yourself feel better. |
Sure you're not. The post could have said anything: Metro United does, my dD does and they do, anything, but mentioned "the 07 play up" (which by the way, there are five of them) is unnecessary. And I'm not even sure that sells it or detracts from the club. |
I used her as an example. They obviously value her. Plus I doubt the mom would be posting here during the kids game. |
Oh please! That is all there is, a never ending online campaign. That isn't proof the club does or doesn't value midfielders. Just stop. Don't make this about one player. Either Metro United does or it doesn't. |
|
Wait - you just said it would be better with no examples, now you want more proof?
Thanks for the laugh. Good luck on finding a new club. |
Not sure who this was addressed to, but examples are not about specific players. They are about coaching decisions and what the coach wants his players to do. The initial post shows a coaching decision that does not develop a good midfielder, regardless of who the player is. |
And most of the playups at Metro are midfielders. |
I've seen the gambit: there's a forward, some defenders, everything. Again, think coaching decisions. What are the MU coaches doing in terms of formation, instructions, style, that is midfielder friendly? A lot of the team's I've seen play long balls out of the back, so that is not a "midfield" centric style. Maybe that's why midfielders are playing up. They aren't part of the action anyways. |

I'm not sure what level she is at or wants to be at, but I'd say look at the Nova Barcelona Academy. They emphasize possession and midfield engagement. They also teach a lot of those tactics in their practices. |
