No political figure has ever stoked as much violence as Trump. He’s supported neo nazis, undermined our elections, and stoked violence against his own VP and political candidate. So no, I don’t feel any sympathy for him. What goes around comes around.
We can be against everything Trump stands for but still be sympathetic to the plight of all politicians and rally-goers who are victims of gun violence. It appears that Trump nearly lost his life tonight. One of his supporters died. This is not OK.
Yes, it's well known that Trump has incited violence multiple times and has denied the dangers of Covid such that many of his supporters died of it. You can deplore the act without liking the man. But if you're going to hold the higher moral ground, instead of wallowing in the mud with this guy, then you can damm well express decent sorrow that he was shot at tonight, and that someone died.
