Whittle

With no resources to spend on this, those that want leverage will have to start talking to the press. Their leverage is their stories. There are many. Then they can call him and let him know what the next story is to drop— unless they get paid.

So all those law firms mentioned by someone else above ready to take this case on contingency......don't really seem to exist. That's a surprise.

Won’t post again about this since it will be clear where it matters, but attorneys will sue the parents’ committee and the Bisgaards I think, not Chris Whittle. I gather they are neck deep and good for it

I counted at least 3 separate attorneys agreeing with that

I look forward to seeing an actual suit if/when it is filed. The arguments weren't hard to summarize here, so it shouldn't take long.

Wait for Chris Whittle to flee to China.

I am still bewildered that they got a job at a school like Maret. Oh whoops, I mean *Dennis got a job.

Still waiting for an answer to this…

If I was at Maret as parent/teacher/admin etc I would be over the top outraged by the Dennis hiring. We saw him in action at Whittle, and thought he was a complete buffoon. Talked up a bunch of platitudes while saying nothing in actuality. (Perfect for Whittle). This is really the best Maret can do? Makes you think there is also something wrong under the covers at Maret, if this is the best they could hire.

As an outsider to both Maret and Whittle - sounds like Dennis acts as directed. So if I were a Maret parent, I'd be hoping the Maret board is giving strong, clear guidance. Maybe Maret's board wants someone who can "do as told". But in that case, you better have confidence in what the board will be telling him to do.

A board is not supposed to run an organization. They hire the head that fits with their mission and vision. What you describe would be a very dysfunctional board, and perhaps Maret’s is.

Not saying this is how it should be done, but providing insight into why the board would choose this person (and what I'd be hoping if this were true).

God, you guys are still going on about this, huh? Don’t see why, seeing as all of those kids seemed to have a really great time at that school. And isn’t that all that matters? That the students are getting what they paid for? None of this legal stuff holds any relevancy if Whittle delivered. And as for this Dennis guy, what do you all really know about him? From all the videos and articles I saw, he seems legit. I’m sure Maret will be just fine with him. Compose yourselves!!

Er, I think the students paid to be educated, not simply “have a great time.” The promises of innovative, global education were certainly not met.

This is spot on. There is definitely something wrong at Maret- some of the best, long-serving teachers leaving bc of frustration with admin, a terrible Head search, an outgoing HoS who is simultaneously useless and vindictive…signed, an insider

Leaving or forced out?

Curious for those with HS students who intended on going to Whittle this Fall. Where did your DC land? Public? Private? If private, what sort? (Big 3, Big 5, Catholic, Md burbs vs VA burbs….)
