| How much should I tip this guy? I think $15.00 is a good amount? |
| Wtf? For how much food? |
| I tip them like, $1-2, max. They are literally bringing one bag of food from their car to my doorstep. |
Are you kidding me? They are making a delivery to your house. It doesn't matter if it is one item or 20. Good God, if you can afford to have someone delivery restaurant food to your door then TIP THEM. Your attitude is disgusting PP. |
And BTW, they are delivering it from the restaurant, not from their car, genius. |
| I tip 10%. |
We never tip less than $5. Ever. Even if it's pizza and the restaurant is right around the corner. Can you imagine is someone said, "Hey, would you do me a favor and bring me a pizza from down the street? I'll give you five bucks." Come on, people. You are lucky you are in the position to be tipping someone else. It's your responsibility to tip. Its the so-called "trickle down effect." |
| Don't they get paid by Uber? |
No! Seriously you people don't know how this works and yet you use the service? They are paid a small amount because the assumption is they are going to be tipped by the customer. Same reason you are charged so little -- because the assumption is you will be tipping the driver. Do your really want to live in a third world country where people are delivering food to your door for $1-2??? This is America, not India. |
Why would they make that assumption? I'm paying the amount that is listed on the app. If they wanted tips, they should go work as a bartender or even better, a server. |
You're kidding, right? |
Because that's how it works. If they charged you an amount that would actually be fair then you wouldn't use the app. They are not employees. |
I just checked the last Uber order I placed. The food was charged $12. On top of that, there was $2 service fee, $2 delivery fee, and somehow a $2 tip (not sure if it was automatic or I clicked on it not realizing), so 50% in fees. No way am I adding additional tip to that. |
So Uber made $4 and the delivery driver made $2. Again, do you want to live in a country where people are being paid $2 to deliver food to your door? |
I don't think this is accurate. |
