Any suggestions out there?
DD has fairly sensitive skin and is miserable TIA! |
After they fall asleep I smother the affected areas in coconut oil on skin and lip balm for the lips. A good overnight moisturizer really seems to help. |
Vitamin e stick from Whole Foods. I’m also partial to Carmex. |
Stay away from hot water on the face as much as possible. Last winter I had some serious issues with the hot water in my bathroom sink. I discovered, much to my surprise, that washing my face in only freezing cold water (thank you polar vortex) and a good moisturizing soap felt amazingly refreshing and my usual very painful winter dry skin disappeared pretty much completely.
I'm not advocating cold showers or anything like that -- I'm definitely not doing that, believe me! -- but otherwise staying away from hot water on the face can make a huge difference to skin condition. |
Aquaphor |
Just went through this with my son- Coconut oil on the lips (won't sting), Vaseline on the chapped skin around the lips. Once healed, get her some Neutrogena lip moisturizer to keep in backpack to prevent another round- it's gentle , has no scents etc that irritate and has sunscreen for protection. I just bought a ficebpacl on Amazon so we each have one. |
I'm pp- meant to type I bought a five pack on Amazon |
Vaseline. Cheap and effective. |
Carmex. |
Water—they need to drink more! |
For kids? We do Vaseline in nose and Burt’s Bees on lips. |
for skin - Eucerin Advanced Repair Cream
if lips are cracked we do neuosporin until they heal then chapstick after that. |
I second the ficebpacl. Can’t live without mine. |
We use lanolin for seriously cracked lips. I bought it for breastfeeding, and my youngest is 4. A little goes a long way! |
NP, would you please link? I can’t find this. |
