Christmas Gift for High School Senior

Anonymous
I would like to get her something for college. Not the basics like sheets etc. She has a good laptop. Can be fun or useful. No idea where she will be at this point of course. Thanks for any ideas.

One thing, my son is different (from his siblings and close friends) in that he doesn't like getting flashy electronics so likely will not open something that I gave him if I sent him away. So we are getting these these items to use at home, and get used to having them, and then he could take them when he leaves.

Here are some of the items that we may get our DS - He doesn't have a list, as he never asks for anything

* Wireless Printer (currently he shares a family printer)
* Apple Watch (not likely, because he would not wear)
* Apple TV (he has a TV in his room that has a fire stick; altho he prefers to watch his iPad)
* Winter Coat (he wears a small jacket to school even in winter)
* Winter Boots (he wears his Vans every day)

Other items (my son already owns)
* iPad
* Bose wireless noise canceling earphones
* external monitor/docking station
* fold up cushy chair

Before he leaves for school we will probably get him a computer, rolling trunk, refrigerator, and bedding)

Most college kids aren't using printers these days...most things are turned in electronically.

Bose headphones with noise cancelling feature.
Comfy throw for bed
nice pillow
portable speaker
Most don't know where they are attending but gift cards from nearby eateries are great. Container Store and Target gift cards are always great.

Lol. NP here who is also trying to figure out what to get my college-bound senior. Not going here, but it made me laugh.

My kid would like Airpods, a good portable charger and extra charging cables, a gift card to Cold Stone, a good and warm bathrobe and slippers or mocs.

I cannot imagine buying any of this in December, then shoving it into a closet for 8 months.

If your kid plans to attend a school in a winter climate, coats and boots are more plentiful now than next July. You can certainly wait for the January sales too.

-Just my humble opinion.

I wouldn’t give a college related gift for XMas unless they are in and decided on where they are going.

It will just introduce college acceptance anxiety into the holiday. My kids aunt gave my kid a nice gift and also a copy of The Naked Roommate. The book got an eyeroll but was read.
