Would you really just stick a gift card for your teen under the tree and call it a day? Yes they are practical but that would be a big disappointment for my kids.

NP - I assumed OP was talking about someone other than her DC, like a niece or something. But upon reading it maybe she is talking about her DC, in which case you are right about gift cards.
