Potomac Soccer Home Game and Practice Location?

Does anyone know where Potomac Soccer have their home games and where they hold their practices?

I’m thinking of having my DD tryout for their team but is wondering where they usually have their practices/games at.

Thank you.

I know they practice at Bullis School in Potomac. No idea where they play games.

Soccerplex for games and Bullis mostly for practices. They are the EDP league now, which MD/PA/NJ matches.

Practices: Bullis, Landon, Cabin John Park or Greenbrier

Games:

Home - Depending on the league (CCL or EDP) they will be either at Muldoon Farms or SoccerPlex

Away - CCL (NoVa or MD) / EDP (1 or 2 games in PA or NJ)

Thank you so much, everyone.

I assume EDP is a more competitive league than CCL, right?

Not necessarily, it really depends on which division the team is in.

It all depends on the age. Younger teams play at Muldoons and can have practice anywhere in the Potomac area. Older teams usually (but not always) get to practice at Bullis and play at the Soccerplex.

Be certain to have your child attend practices before the tryout to get a feel and ask about the coach before committing. There are pros and cons to Potomac, as with all clubs, but we left because there were some major issues we just couldn’t ignore anymore. The TD seemed to be trying to put the entire program on a positive track but there were lots of empty promises. In addition, the coach assigned to DC’s team was a hot head with a nasty temper and the TD seemed absolutely clueless about it.

Please let me know if this is a U12G Team. Thank you.

With tryouts typically held around May, any suggestions as to when it’s best to start attending practices? Is March/April a good time?

Also, how many practices does a coach typically allow a player to attend practice? I prefer at least 2-3 practices if the coach allows it.

Does Potomac teams go from top team down...Blue, White, Black? Thanks

I think most coaches in general would let a potential interested player attend a couple of practices that would benefit both parties to see if it's a good fit.

We've had multiple players come to multiple practices who want to give Potomac a try.

Teams:

1st Blue
2nd White
3rd Black
4th Grey

Yes EDP seems to be gaining more and more teams/clubs. CCL is struggling on the girls side. EDP future looks brighter vs CCL.

Is it best to ask the questions (1-3) below during practice, during tryouts, after tryouts or after my DD gets accepted?

Is the following questions appropriate to ask a U13 coach:

1. How do you allocate playing time? Is it based upon even distribution or based upon skill level?

2. Do you rotate the girls at different field positions or do you place them based upon skill level or team needs?

3. Is there starters and substitutions or everyone is rotated?

I would say...as soon as possible. If you are wondering if you kid will get her share of playing time, I'm wondering why you should move. You should only sacrifice playing time if you are packing it in and looking to cut your commute/costs. You should only move if you feel like your kid will be valued by her teammates and the coach (and therefore get playing time). Your daughter should be somewhere in the top third of the players. You don't want to move if there is any chance of lack of playing time. Find a team where it's a good fit. So in your case, after "tryouts", ask...how much will my kid play? How much value does she bring? You should have a sense by watching a few practices where she will fit in.
