I am hearing that public schools will probably be closed tomorrow, so they won't "bother" to open for Tuesday and Wednesday.
I already have to take some painful LWOP for the usual week long closure. I don't know what I'll do about this too
Just drove by the school on the perfectly plowed roads, the school sidewalks and parking lot are still packed with untouched snow. |
| Loudoun County announced that they're closed until January 4th! |

Fairfax County can't even manage their budget - if they open I will be shocked. |
| the fed govt is closed tomorrow. |
They haven't even bothered to make an announcement about tomorrow yet! |
| I'm fairly confident Arlington will be closed until January 4th. Snowplow couldn't even make it down my street and it is a major bus route for all levels of school. Plus, they'll probably be closed M&T and not want to bother heating the schools for a 1/2 day on W. UGH! |
| I'm in ffx. The roads are clear. They just announced that they ARE closing for the rest of this week. Argh! |
| I am also in Fairfax and the neighborhood roads are not clear at all. |
Really? What part? I am in a small neighborhood off 236 near Daniel's Run Elementary and my neighborhood is plowed, 236 is passable.... |
I bet this is a golden opportunity for them to reduce costs for a few days by closing for so long. |
| I'm so excited that schools are closed! Two weeks to play with the kids! *WOOHOO* |
| Your nightmare came true. I just got an email from FCPS -- closed until January!! Luckily, I have an au pair so I don't have the leave problem, but I can sympathiuze. |
Chantilly area. Route 50 is in pretty good shape, but the main artery through our neighborhood hadn't been plowed as of 2:00 today. |
Oakton are is also a mess. The roads off the neighborhoods have many abandoned cars, many neighborhood streets haven't been plowed at all... I'm glad the FCPS are closed all this week. At least some good has come out of all of our shovelling! |
| The Fairfax Co. parts of Vienna - main roads are done and main side roads got one pass, but small neighborhood roads haven't been touched. We are within walking distance to a school but without sidewalks or streets plowed, it would be hard for the kids to get to school from here. |
