| I've used WW twice before. Each time the program was slightly different. I started again recently and things are going well on it but I just got an email saying "In 3 days, meet your NEW weight loss program." Are they changing it AGAIN? I've finally got down a system that's working and don't really feel like starting from scratch. But I use the online app which will update so I can't just keep using the old points. Does anyone know anything about this? |
WW changes are so wonderful. People wandering around wegmans saying "fruit is free, fruit is free!" and getting odd looks from the other shoppers. |

There will be three programs to choose from, including the current one. They are bringing back a version of “simply filling” and also adding one with less flexibility.
I do WW at work and the leader assured everyone that if they like the current version that remains one of the options. I am actually interested in the simply filling variant as that is the direction I am moving towards. |

They usually do some sort of tweak around thanksgiving.
If PP is right and there will now be options, please, please let there be Points Plus! That worked like a charm for me but I cannot stay track with Smartpoints or Freestyle. I haven’t received any notice yet, though. |
| I’m not losing on the current plan with no points for fruit and proteins and would welcome a new plan because I have no self control |
| Is WW really helpful? I’ve never used the program before but I’ve heard mixed reviews. How is it different from monitoring what you eat - which I’m doing a terrible job at right now since my DC takes lunch to school now. Sighhhh I have to lose 25lbs |
| If you look at un photo shopped Oprah you’ll see why it needs to change yet again. And yes, she is seriously photo shopped on every magazine cover. |
It can be, but it's really gimmicky with all the different programs and point systems etc etc. Just tracking calories with MFP etc is much simpler (and free). |
Simply filling is where you have to track even fewer points, right? I like that. I think the progressive move towards incentivizing good foods and tracking less is really helpful and doable for me personally. The only thing I don't like is the horrible prejudice against full-fat dairy. |
I find it much easier to track points and have "free" foods with WW than to track every single calorie. And the WW system basically incentivizes you to eat more foods that are filling and healthy (fruit, lean protein, veg) by not having to track it. So all you end up having to count are the food that are high calorie and tend to be over-eaten (carbs, fats, processed foods). It works well for me as long as I actually track! Counting every single calorie is a pain and doesn't teach you what a filling, healthy, sustainable diet is, IMO. |
Agreed that the outcome of the WW freestyle (and hopefully the newer version of simply filling) is much less rigorous tracking and creating incentives to get in the habit of making better food choices. I still track zero point foods so I can see what I ate but I do not worry about amounts at all. The end goal for me is to learn to pay attention to my hunger and only eat when I am hungry and stop eating when I am reasonably full (not thanksgiving full). I also want to have good fats in my diet and WW encourages that but in reasonable amounts. I drink whole milk in my coffee daily, I eat a good amount of avocado and cheese and cook with good oils and eat nuts. I can, however, easily overindulge in nuts so WW incentivized me to not overindulge. The one thing I have moved to no fat is Greek yogurt. Maybe when I hit my goal I will move from nonfat to low or full fat but for me the ability to have Greek yogurt with fruit as a snack was a great sweet alternative that helped keep me on plan. |

PP 01:39 here.
Thank you all for the feedback!! Tracking calories is tough. I’ve also tried the 21 day fit program - that work well but I was not meal prepping at that time so that caused an issue. I will find out more about MVP and WW point program. |
