Is WW really helpful? I’ve never used the program before but I’ve heard mixed reviews. How is it different from monitoring what you eat - which I’m doing a terrible job at right now since my DC takes lunch to school now. Sighhhh I have to lose 25lbs
It can be, but it's really gimmicky with all the different programs and point systems etc etc. Just tracking calories with MFP etc is much simpler (and free).
I find it much easier to track points and have "free" foods with WW than to track every single calorie. And the WW system basically incentivizes you to eat more foods that are filling and healthy (fruit, lean protein, veg) by not having to track it. So all you end up having to count are the food that are high calorie and tend to be over-eaten (carbs, fats, processed foods). It works well for me as long as I actually track! Counting every single calorie is a pain and doesn't teach you what a filling, healthy, sustainable diet is, IMO.
