Why can't DC keep obvious "dangers" off the streets... even after an assault on a police officer ??? |
| What a terrible story. I hate men. |
|
This is getting absolutely ridiculous. Things are getting worse and worse, everyone is begging the mayor to do something, and she's radio-silent. How much more has to happen before something is done?
Police reports aren't taken down, repeat offenders don't even get a slap on the wrist -- what more do citizens need to do to protect themselves? |
Arm themselves and then stand their ground against DC thuggery. |
| True. |

| Let's not over react. He is a suspect. Innocent until proven guilty. |
| Wow, the details. And her kids came downstairs during the assault. What a nightmare. She exhibited great presence of mind to direct them to the neighbors' house. |

Vote for people that are committed to providing mental health care to all.
or Just get over it, women will continues to be raped. |
| That's terrifying. Getting an alarm system ASAP. |
Why would you assume he was mentally ill? There are many violent, evil people in this world. |
DP, but the article mentions a mental health assessment. Also, his actions as described sound like either he was on drugs and/or has mental health problems. |
But this one is not one of them. He is clearly mentally ill. |
I'll support mental health care for all if it means that people who are mentally ill and have already committed violent and erratic crimes are cared for in a secure, contained facility. The fact that he is either mentally ill or has a substance abuse problem does not change the fact that he is dangerous. |
| I am almost afraid to read Popville these days because of the number of broad daylight crimes reported. |
