Who are the top 04 girls teams?

This is the year that was hit with the year group change, then the beginning of the DA when they were 13, then the proliferation of ‘high level’ DA and ECNL teams. And the division standings seem to shift a lot year to year, as do the rosters. So what do people think?

Definitely ARLINGTON. A#1. I suspect that each and every athlete is being considered for the US WNT.

Local 2004 ECNL teams are all at the bottom. FCV and Arlington are ok. There is not an amazing 2004 team in NOVA.

Reality check -- I am an ECNL 04 parent, and the reality is that FCV is clearly the best 04 team in the area. Arlington is well behind them, and Metro, Loudoun, McLean, VDA, and BRYC are way, way behind.

Also and ECNL parent. I agree with the above. The 2004 age group is the only one where top players seem to congregate to create one top team which is FCV. The 2003 age group seems to be dominated by FCV too with BRYC hanging in there as above average. Oldest age groups don't matter anymore. All the age groups after 2004 just have players sprinkled around amongst all the teams so no one team is above any of the others.

You may want to take a look at the 05 FCV team. That team is deeeeep.

I would put that at 06 and younger where talent is sprinkled.

For the oldest teams, FCV has the top U19 team. MU doesn't come close to what they have, which is why they got boat raced in their game against each other. BRYC has a pretty strong u19 team as well, as does McLean. VDA and Loudoun, again way behind.

I agree though mostly on the 04s. MU doesn't have anything close to a competitive team. VDA is behind FCV but they aren't bad. That might be their strongest team. They stayed together since the team was first formed. Loudoun and BRYC, yep very weak teams. I wonder how a match between Loudoun and MU would turn out.

They beat them in a preseason scrimmage but lost to them as Spirit in a college showcase in the spring. So I consider the two to cancel each other out, until they play again, maybe this spring in the 2020 showcase.

MU has never played Loudoun at any age group actually, so I think it'd be an interesting match up.

Why would it be interesting? Neither are very good teams.
