Holy $h!t, “Babe” is gruesome and dark.

Babe was one of my favorites as a kid. I haven’t seen it in 20 years but rewatched this morning with sick DD7 who thankfully fell asleep 14 minutes in..

This movie is incredibly dark, did I just not pick it up as a kid?

you didn't pick up on it as a kid, neither will she.

that said, I don't recall the movie being dark and gruesome...maybe I need to rewatch.

I think the dark parts go right over most people’s heads, especially kids

I love Ferdinand screaming “Christmas means carnage!”

Babe 2 is even darker.

Wait until you have to explain to your kid where their sausage comes from.

If Babe's is as close to the horrors of factory farming as you ever get consider yourself blissfully ignorant.

Yep, it is, tried to watch with my kid a while ago and could take it.

My wedding march 12 years again was listed in the program as Camile Saint-Seans (I think organ symphony 3, op 78). The guests didn’t necessarily know the history but the organist probably didn’t appreciate it when I asked for “the song from Babe”.

When farmer Hoggit dances the jig...that’s love.
