Toured a center Thursday, liked it but were on the fence. We put down a deposit Friday to hold our spot, got the packet, reviewed it over the weekend and decided it wasn't for us. We are letting them know today (Monday) but our daughter was suppose to start this week - should we expect our deposit back? It said it was refundable as long as no balance is due and since the packet hasn't been turned in, she can't start. |
I suspect they haven't even cashed the check. Call the bank and cancel it. |
I'd go in there and explain that you've decided to release the spot. Since you didn't turn in any registration materials, there shouldn't be a problem. They should be able to return your checks and will just go to the next person on the waitlist. |
Per my mobile app, it was cashed. Didn't waste any time, lol! |
But thanks for the reassurance! We figured it shouldn't be an issue since it was from Friday to Monday. |
Well apparently we signed a form that said she would start this week so the deposit is nonrefundable. |
Such is life. Move on, and don't stress about it. Cost of doing business. |
Curious what you saw in the packet compared to the tour that pushed you to no |
You may not, you accepted the spot. |
Nonrefundable if you fully enrolled and were set to start. |
Dumb mistake. |
A couple of items were red flag but I think what pushed me was a note that said if you’re off of work, your child is expected to be with you and will not be accepted that day. Um, what? If I’m paying for a service, it’s none of your business what I’m doing during that time. I don’t want / shouldn’t have to lie because it’s none of my providers business. |
That is ridiculous |
How would they every know? |
Maybe they mean holidays like Columbus Day, MLK day etc where not everyone gets the day off.its still none of their business if they’re charging for those days. |
