Sick preschooler, sick SAHM, well toddler. Ugh.

My very busy (even for a toddler) toddler is the only one not feeling under the weather. Today is going to be fun.

Television. All you need to make it through. No guilt.

Seriously, TV. All the TV he wants. Even better if you have one in your room and you can all cocoon in there and sleep while he binges.

And make up games that wear the toddler out, but that you can do lying down. Wear that child out and make it to nap time. Then TV all afternoon until DH gets home.

This is why people need back up care- even drop in daycare. It’s a nice day outside. Just take the kid to the park while you and preschooler relax on the bench. Then chic fila drive through, then nap. After noon is spent on iPad or watching tv. Tell the sperm donor to come home early

+1 to the TV. As much Nick Jr. or whatever he wants.

Also, just let him eat in front of the TV. If you don't have easy snacks for him to eat, order grocery delivery.

The aim is survival here.

You’re an empathetic soul.

If she is very ill, she will not be able to (and nor should she) drive to the park/daycare/whatever and sit on a bench.

Again, sperm donor is available.

Simply the worst! I wish you luck and second or third the people who said tv, and lots of it.

These are the HARDEST days, OP.

Hang in there...

Husband offered to stay home, but it would be a major issue for his work so I prefer not to take him up on it while I’m well enough to manage. Doesn’t mean I can’t whine on DCUM though. Sadly the toddler isn’t old enough to become a screen zombie yet, she loses interest... Considering this a down payment on something nice for myself later this week.

I would definitely stick the toddler in the tub with lots of bubbles while you sit on the side - that'll take up at leas5 45 minutes and you could do it twice.Order pizza for lunch?

Scavenger hunt around the house. Treasure hunt. Smell test (wear a blind fold and guess the food you are sniffing). These can be done while you sit on the couch. If you have a store that does drive up shopping, order some new arts and crafts to do.

I hear you. I have a well newborn that wants to be held and a sick but very energetic preschooler.
