Uh, this is your job. |
Hang in there OP! You will get through it. Hopefully your DH can get home from work on time or early. Sending good energy your way. |
LOL, okay PP, when you come down with the flu, I look forward to hearing back from you about how you sucked it up and went into the office all week. |
I take a day off from my job when I'm sick. |
She said she's well enough to manage. Yes, I go to the office unless I'm extremely sick. As do all adults. |
And I guess you never say “man this sucks” when you do! @.@ —op |
Ugh. That's the worst, when you're feeling about 0% and your toddler is at full-strength. Hang in there, and I hope you feel better soon! |
Sure I do. but I don't 'consider it a down payment on something nice for myself.' I consider it, you know, life. |
Oh good grief. When I’m having a rough time I like to think about doing something nice. Maybe I’ll get myself some daisies when I go grocery shopping! Maybe I’ll put whipped cream in my coffee! It makes me feel better about whatever lousy thing is happening. Maybe you don’t do that, but you don’t have to be a jerk about it. |
Well congrats to you? Not OP, WOHM, but I like to think about treating myself if I’ve had a difficult week (like a nice dinner, relaxing couple hours). Makes getting through tough times more fun. |
It’s tough, OP. I still remember taking care of my walking baby while I had a stomach bug (& that was years ago). It’s hard when the kid is mobile but too young to care about TV, arts & crafts, etc. or be left unattended. Hopefully you will feel better soon & the toddler won’t get sick. |
Are you the sniffling, coughing person in my office? We all wish you would keep your germs at home. |
+1. To those of you who have to be completely bed ridden to stay home from work: STAY HOME when you are sick. At least half of the time you make other colleagues sick and you are a jerk. |
OP here. Toddler napped, I set the preschooler up with Netflix and snacks and lay down. Three hours later, I actually feel pretty good! Can’t believe I slept that long, clearly needed it. |
I don't. I have weeks and weeks of sick time banked (so clearly not abusing it) so I take a day off when I'm sick. I get better faster and I don't spread my germs. Win-win. |
