We’ve fallen into a bad routine of watching tv for hours after the kids go to bed. They are 4 and 2. What do other parents do?? |
Laundry, work, talk, have sex, prep for the following morning, play with the dog, watch Netflix, play piano, chess, shoot baskets in the driveway, etc. |
Read and drink (tea or wine, it depends) |
Sex 4-5 nights |
Goodness I wish I had time after the kids went to sleep. |
Sex. But we don’t wait until the kids are asleep... |
I watch TV. I have no energy after the kids are asleep. |
Surf the net and get on DCUM ![]() |
Single parent so no sex for me sadly.
I have about 2 hours after the kids are in bed before I go to bed. I usually clean up the kitchen and do whatever else needs to be done for the next day and then watch a show or two or putz around on the internet (sometimes both). I usually read in bed for a little bit too, though not when my kids were that age-I’d just fall asleep immediately if I tried to read! |
It can vary pretty greatly depending on the time of year and to what degree we have our shit together (or not).
-exercise -sex -cooking -laundry, lunch/other meal prep -other chores -study for professional certifications relevant to our careers -surf the internet -watch TV -read -work |
Single parent. Kids are 4 and 7. I go to sleep right after they do. |
Sex and sleep. We get up at 5 to take turns working out in the morning before kid gets up. |
Dh and I have 1.5 to 2 hours. Our norms are
Sex 2 episodes of a show we watch. Play cards Relax in bed |
Ugh. Log back on and do more work... I try to be home after school so I have to make up hours. Husband works for himself so he is also often working late into the night. We barely see each other. So jealous of all the folks who seem unincumbered after the kids are in bed... |
I sleep. Or I try to, considering that it’s 3 am and I’m responding to this post, it’s not working out so well for me. Insomnia sucks. |
