giftable kids clothes?

I'm starting to think about holiday gifts. I usually try to get nieces and nephews a nice outfit or pair of PJs. Had been doing so at Hanna Anderssen but feel their quality has slipped. Plus I'm not loving their designs that are out so far. Anyone shop Janie and Jack since the Gap took it over? How's the quality? Other recommendations of where to shop for a "special" outfit for kids toddler through early elementary?

What do the parents like to dress their kids in? And, what do the kids like? My son wouldn't want Hanna Anderssen or Janie and Jack. For elementary school boys, Under Armor, Addidas and Nike or teeshirts based off his interests.

For PJs you can do primary. They have stars and dots and seem timeless and are good quality.

Petit Bateau? A little tricky to find but that makes it special. Nice material and washes well. Their pajamas especially are my favorite for my children because of how soft they are and long they last. Maisonette Web site carries the brand; you can order from their Web site directly too.

I don't expect other people to dress my children. I buy their clothes myself.

We like clothing gifts, but none of the above listed clothes. They would go in the closet and only come out when we see you. Boys aren't going to like that stuff, especially in elementary school.

My 5yr old boy really likes the appliquéd t-shirts from Mini Boden with things like a giant spider or a shark.

If my kids are getting clothes as a gift from family, it is sports-team related. Ie a Redskins sweatshirt or a Nats hat.

I usually purchase gifts from GapKids. That way, they can be exchanged if desired and the gift card can be used at Gap, ON, or BR, by the parents or the kids. If I am able to use a gift card that my kid receives and doesn't want, I buy it from them for cash. Ie: kid receives a Target gift card but what they want is from Amazon. I will "apply" their Target credit to my Amazon order and then use the Target gift card on food or shampoo or whatever.
