Girls u13 DA/ECNL club question for those who have gone through it

In your experience what percentage of the girls who were on your DA/ECNL club at u12 made the DA/ECNL team at U13?

Roughly 50%. Depends on club though. Some are very insular and some are recruiters. Tell us your clubs of interest and we can give you a better idea of which way they lean.

If your kid isn’t a top five player on the current U12 pre DA team don’t count on anything regardless of club.

Not Loudoun. Most of the red team has been promoted to the ECNL team in the past. The others may be different.

"...in the past....." funny. Loudoun has only had ECNL for what, two years now? Hardly a track record to draw conclusions from. If the girl is good enough to make the team, they will. I can't imagine any DA/ECNL club would turn away a talent that was worthy of a spot. If the "new girl" is about the same as some of the existing lower team players from the club, I could imagine they'd promote from within versus take external, but who knows.....

It’s a fact. Did it change with the 2007s? Please share your wisdom, oh great one.

PS, it was the same way in making their top teams previously. They are insular. They do have a strange obsession with trying to pry away FCV players, though, which usually doesn’t work out too well for them.

That is such a small sample set that it’s hard to judge. But there aren’t that many really good gks out there for the girls so if your dad is interested and motivated and decent the odds are probably good.

Probably true since very few outside kids will show up for their tryouts anyway.

I agree there are only a few really good goalies in the 2007 pool but I am not sure what dads have to do with it.

The 2007s did add from outside the club. They evaluated a number of girls and gave offers to at least one (who joined). And you've got the whole FCV-> Loudoun thing backwards.....FCV is (and has always since they had ECNL previously....) always looking to add Loudoun kids.
