What is your worst parenting moment ever?

I was just at the playground with my 2 year old and my 7 year old. I was busy watching my 7 year old because a homeless man was sitting on a bench close to where she was playing and he was drinking beer while watching her. I obviously looked away from my 2 year old and she fell from the top of the playground. It had to of been at least 6 feet. The ground was bouncy/absorbent thankfully, so I don't think she got hurt. She did cry from the scare of it all. There were 2 other moms there, judging me I'm sure. I'm so embarrassed and feel like the worst mother right now.

Mine was when DD crawled off our very high bed around 10 months. I was nearly sick with guilt until doctor said she was ok.

My 7 month old son got the razor out from under my bathroom cabinets (normally locked, but my 3 year old raids them constantly) and basically slit his wrists. There was blood everywhere and it looked like a horror scene. Luckily it was all very superficial but he was cut all over.

Just an FYI, homeless people are not inherently dangerous. Even homeless people drinking beer.

My 12 month old opened the door to the garage, got her fisher price car out and was 2 blocks away pushing that car down the sidewalk. So scary! We had no idea she could even open the door to the garage.

I'm just going out on a limb here to guess you only have one and your child is still fairly young.

I was a new mom on maternity leave sitting inside a coffee shop that had large windows open to the outside.

Baby was about 2-3 months old and started to get a little fussy so I took her out of the stroller to rock her a little.

She looked at me, took a giant poop that shot all the way up her back, and then started screaming hysterically

While I was trying to calm her and contain the mess, a giant BIRD flew in the window and took the half of my coffee cake that was remaining.

I started crying right there in the coffee shop. I can't remember if I said, "what have I done? why did I do this?" or if I was just thinking it. Either way, it was a real low point to start motherhood. I walked back to my house with a tear stained face and a poo soaked shirt.

Shorter version- I looked away for a minute and my two year old fell off some playground equipment, but was fine. ( Similar to something that has happened to every other parent in the world).
If that’s your worst parenting moment I think you’ll be fine. Seems like you just wanted to post about the beer drinking man watching your seven year old which, while creepy, was totally irrelevant to the story.

OP here.
No, not at all! I just wanted to explain why I would be giving my full attention to my 7 year old at a playground and not my 2 year old, who still needs help getting around.

Okay, I apologize for being snarky. Just don’t think you need to justify taking your eyes off of your toddler for a second- could happen to anyone.

Note to DCUM: Never ever, EVER mention anyone that is homeless in any capacity. You will get flamed!

I let go of my 20 month old daughter's stroller and it rolled down a flight of stairs, landing her face first on the cement. Lots of blood but she was ok.

My grocery cart with my 2 year old daughter rolled away from me in the parking lot at wegmans while I was busy with my younger son. Thankfully another mother grabbed it and her. Her face as she rolled away was terrible!

I cut off the bottom of my DC's earlobe while giving him a haircut. He was getting squirmy, I was rushing and...

It was awful.

Mine was similar to the op except I wasn't distracted by my other kid, I was that parent too busy taking a picture of my 2.5yo climbing to catch her when she flipped over from 4 feet up. But she was fine.
